]HOWL 2008[

My first live painting gig! This was at Tompkins Square Park in the lower east side of Manhattan. Usually ridden with homeless people and junkies, this time it was full of artists and sideshow freaks...so yeah, I guess not that much of a difference.

I painted this with acrylic on a 10' high piece of canvas...it took me about 5 hours total.

For more pictures of the event, check this out. Or check out Howl's official website.

I figured I should probably do a trial run painting before the live painting show I had at Tompkins Square Park, after a few years lacking in painting experience. This is the result, I thought it turned out pretty damn cool.

acrylic on wood.

A two-party system? In the year 2009? I mean, I think it's a little ludicrous, but who am I to judge?

Well, for my thesis at Pratt, I decided to be the judge and make an all-encompassing third (fourth, five, seventieth) party mascot, the bee. Because, well, bees work hard, efficiently, and hell, they just look badass.

Depending on the party that it represents, the bee mascot changes colors to fit its new identity.

So here's to "beeing american" and seeing more than just the two parties who daily seem to look more and more alike.

More versions of the masscot and an animation coming soon.

And, just for good measure, here's my resume...

You also contact me at bloktinfo@gmail.com for a PDF version.

YOOO, Paul aka ]BLOKT[ here! I thought I would start up my own blog to keep those who are interested up to date on what's going on with my life, work and what not.

I have so much going on that it's hard to keep sending stuff to my web guy so I thought this would be a more immediate outlet for all things ]BLOKT[.

Aiight, that's all for now. More to come soon!
